I joined the night tour at Cuc Phuong National Park last night, and it was honestly one of the most memorable wildlife experiences I’ve had in Vietnam.

After dark, the forest feels completely different. As the jeep moves slowly along the quiet park road, the guide uses a spotlight to scan the trees and forest floor. Seeing wildlife active in their natural habitat, not in cages or during the daytime, made the experience feel very real.

What I appreciated most was how simple and natural the tour was. No loud noise, no rushing—just slowly driving through the forest, listening to the sounds of insects and the night around us while watching for movement.

If you enjoy wildlife and want to experience the forest in a different way, the night safari at Cuc Phuong National Park is definitely worth doing. It’s not flashy or staged, but that’s exactly what makes it special.

We left our homestay in Tràng An at 5:40 am and didn’t get back until 11 pm.
My main goal for this tour was to see three species — the Delacour’s Langur, Vietnamese Mossy Frog, and Pygmy Loris — and I actually got to see even more than that!
In addition to those three, I also spotted and photographed several bird species, a viper, a flying squirrel, and a civet.

It was an amazing and successful trip.

Huge thanks to Mr. Huyen for my favourite night walk in Vietnam. Mr. Huyen took my partner and I deep into Cuc Phuong national park where we photographed several target snake and lizard species and we even topped off the night with a surprise pygmy loris! Mr. Huyen is funny, friendly professional and knowledgable and took great care of us while also being flexible and happy to focus on our targets for the night (reptiles and amphibians). I would wholeheartedly recommend his night walks to any naturalists, wildlife photographers or anybody else just looking for an escape into the jungle for a few hours. Thanks so much again! “

I did a night tour with Huyen, it was one of the best things i did in Vietnam!!! We saw so many animals because of Huyen as i would of see almost nothing, he even saw a small lizard while we where driving!!! He has a lot of knowledge about all kinds of animals and you directly notice he love all animals and the national park itself. I would highly recommend this tour. I found this tour from Viet Wildlife Trip fanpage. I stayed in Tam Coc but decided to go alone for this night spotting tour with Huyen. Really recommend Huyen as he is one of the best guides i met in all of the world!!! Cuc Phuong national park is a really biodiverse place of beauty and primeval forrest, we even had the luck to find the Vietnam mossy frog and other rare animals!
